Dancing donation Supporters of cancer research gathered for the final fundraising event of the Echuca Moama Music Festival recently. The dinner dance celebrated the raising of tens of thousands of dollars and acknowledged the support of volunteers and donors, particularly the contribution of Echuca businessman Lou Iannacone, who was a driving force behind the organisation. Known as the tractor man, Lou drove a modified Ferguson tractor from Echuca to Melbourne's Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and also organised the restoration of a tractor for a raffle. His brother Matt died from cancer only three weeks before the Melbourne trip. The festival committee has wound up after three years of fundraising for drought support and more recently, cancer research. A cheque for $23 000 was presented to the Echuca Regional Health Service oncology unit and $22 500 to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. 1
