Agricultural leaders in farming, forestry and fisheries are being encouraged to apply for Federal Government funding to boost their leadership skills.

The newly announced $5million Leadership in Agricultural Industries Fund is designed to equip leaders with the skills to advocate for agriculture on a national and international stage.

Member for Murray Damian Drum said it was an excellent opportunity and encouraged individuals and organisations to apply.

‘‘This funding will help individuals in the agricultural sector gain more knowledge about advocating for the industry and having their voice heard in a national debate,’’ he said.

‘‘This is a once-off up-skilling opportunity, giving individuals the confidence to join international trade delegations, run national corporate organisations and agribusiness companies.’’

Applications open on Wednesday, April 5.
