The head of Australia’s biggest crowdfunding platform will appear at the Farming Together conference in Adelaide in June to discuss different funding options and his own business journey.
Pozible co-founder and chief executive officer Alan Crabbe said his company believed in the power of business as a source of social good.
‘‘We’ve supported grassroots campaigns that make real change in the world and established long-term partnerships with other organisations with the same values we admire,’’ Mr Crabbe said.
Farming Together is a $13.8million Federal Government initiative aimed at helping farmers form groups to gain marketplace strength.
Its project director Lorraine Gordon said farmers were looking for different investment options.
‘‘Our farmer partners are looking for clever ways to access investment,’’ Ms Gordon said.
‘‘These innovators are flexible thinkers; they are looking beyond the traditional bank finance model to alternative capital-raising structures.
‘‘Like them, Pozible was once a start-up. There’s a lot to be learned from its story.’’
Farmers who have been involved in the Farming Together initiative will also speak at the conference, touching on how they have used the program to form or expand co-operatives.
The event is free for farmers.
