  • Local farmers learn more about their liability risks from legal experts

John Van de Poll will be talking through his presentation, 'Quad bikes and escaping stock'.

Sydney litigation expert, John Van de Poll, will be highlighting the importance of farm liability insurance at an event in regional Victoria next week.

Organised by Achmea Australia, the events will enable farmers to gain a greater understanding of their on-farm liability risks and strategies to mitigate those risks.

“John has over 20 years’ experience as a litigator specialising in all areas of insurance and has managed a significant number of large litigation matters,” said Achmea Australia Risk Specialist, Kieran Kelly, who is organising the Shepparton event.

“He is also a very engaging and personable speaker, and I am sure attendees will walk away with a good understanding of their obligations following his presentation – ‘Quad bikes and escaping stock’.”

Shepparton-based Achmea Australia Risk Specialist, Kieran Kelly said the free presentation offered attendees a rare opportunity to hear first-hand from a specialist in insurance law.

“John was awarded Law Partner of the Year: Insurance in The Lawyers Weekly Awards in 2016 and was included in Best Lawyers 2017 (Insurance), so it is a real coup to have someone with his expertise visiting the area,” Kieran explained.

“John is a very well respected and experienced litigator and I believe all attendees will leave with some practical ideas for developing their own strategy for mitigating risks on-farm.”

The event will take place on Wednesday 24 May. The event starts at 10:30am at 76 Wyndham Street, Shepparton - Shepparton Rabobank Branch.
