Strathbogie's Ian and Angela Pruess have become alpaca royalty after overwhelming the competition at the recent Victorian Alpaca Colourbration Carnival in Bendigo.
Their stud Surilana, the largest Suri stud in Australia, took 16 alpacas to the carnival and won supreme animal in the key categories of grey, fawn, white and fancy.
Mrs Preuss said to have such a successful event was unexpected.
"We never expected to go so well but we scooped the pool," she said.
The judges also awarded the stud a high commendation in the white Suri show, which indicated the level of domination Surilana achieved.
"Of all the animals we took, we were only ever beaten by another one of ours," Mrs Pruess said.
The champion Surilana alpacas are now set to tackle the heights of the Royal Melbourne Show, where Mrs Pruess said anything could happen.
"It's hard to tell how we will go, (the show) is run differently - they don't group the alpacas in colours so usually a white one will win."
Surilana results from the Victorian Alpaca Colourbration Carnival:
Supreme Grey Suri: Surilana Windslip; Supreme Fawn Suri: Surilana Heather; Supreme White Suri: Surilana Bellita ET; Supreme Fancy Suri: Surilana Miss; Judges' Commendation Award: Surilana Donaldo.
