Helping out ... Madeline Wild, Odin Jones and Joel McCormick all from Lockington help sell drinks at the Lifting up Lockie day.
Temperatures may have been warm in Lockington on Sunday, but the heat didn’t stop large crowds from turning out for a family fun day, focusing on men’s health.
‘Lifting up Lockie’ organiser Louise Ross said the day was a a great success.
"We are delighted with the response," Mrs Ross said.
"Sixty one men have come through the shed and signed up for the free health check program."
Mrs Ross said the community had been wanting to organise a day focusing on men’s health for some time.
"The men really embraced the day, men of all ages from 18 to elderly," she said.
Bamawm dairy farmer Garry Mundie participated in the health check.
"It’s been really good, I’m hoping not to have to go home and milk the cows tonight," Mr Mundie laughed.
Steve Bond from Lockington said the day was terrific.
"Members of the motorcycle club have come on their bikes for the day and everyone is getting de-stressed," Mr Bond said.
He had just finished a massage and cheekily said, "The girls are just lovely".
