Expressions of interest to build a huge new shed at the Elmore Field Days site closed last Friday.
The 5000 sq m clear span pavilion will be among the largest of its kind at an event complex in Victoria.
The Victorian Government announced funding support for the project last year.
The Elmore Field Days Committee has been advertising for expressions of interest since early this year.
Committee president Darren Trewick said the pavilion would be used for Elmore Field Days exhibitions and for a range of other activities the site was available for.
"We're hoping to have it built in time for this year's field days, barring any technical hold-ups," Mr Trewick said.
Two large water tanks holding 250 000 litres will also be installed to catch the run-off from the building, with overflow directed to storage dams. The works are part of a $1.3 million infrastructure development program made possible with 50 per cent Victorian Government funding.
The event site will be the venue for the national rally of the Association of Caravan Clubs of Australia, later this year.
