Stock valued at thousands of dollars have been stolen from Shepparton Regional Saleyards.
Twenty-nine sheep were stolen from the yards last Thursday night, just before the regular Friday sheep sale.
Balmattum farmer John Gall lost 10 fat lambs after he had left them in the pens about 5.30pm on Thursday.
‘‘We thought they might have been moved to another pen, at first,’’ Mr Gall said.
He was disgusted at the thought that someone had taken advantage of the farmers who had dropped their stock off at the yards.
The thefts were discovered when stock agents arrived on Friday about 7am.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Shepparton station.
