Cold snap coming

By Geoff Adams

A cold snap is expected to hit Victoria on Wednesday or Thursday, with maximum temperatures only rising to mid to high teens.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting minimum temperatures on Thursday of four to five degrees at towns like Kyabram and Echuca, with Benalla falling to about two degrees.

Thunderstorms and rain are forecast, with snowfalls above 1000 metres.

Senior forecaster Michael Efron said Cup Day, Tuesday, was likely to see heavy rain in the morning, clearing in the afternoon.
