The management of early season canola pests will be the focus of a series of workshops throughout Corowa and Deniliquin later this month.

The workshops are designed to assist advisors and farmers in identifying the range of pests and natural enemies they will encounter in canola growing areas, and help establish a network of support from researchers, experienced agronomists and entomologists when they need advice in the future.

An experienced team of entomologists and agronomists from around the state will deliver the workshop.

The program will cover insect identification, early season pest discussion, management options, monitoring techniques and a paddock walk risk assessment.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided at the free workshop, with attendees also provided with a guide to best management practices.

The Corowa workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 27 from 8.30am to 1.30pm at the Corowa RSL Club at 30 Betterment Pde, Corowa.

The Deniliquin workshop will be held on Thursday, March 28 from 8.30am to 1.30pm at the Deniliquin RSL Club at 72 End St, Deniliquin.
