Input sought for dairy strategy

By Country News

The Dairy Industry Future Focus Working Group is calling on individuals to have their say as the group undertakes the first phase of developing the Murray regional strategy.

Composed of Murray Dairy, Dairy Australia, Committee for Greater Shepparton, UDV and Agriculture Victoria, the review will bring together information and outcomes from previous studies and research which highlighted a number of challenges and opportunities facing dairy in our region.

Opportunities including sharing knowledge, business structure, innovation, infrastructure, technology and market access have been identified as part of the strategy.

However, climate change, water availability, trust and skills and extension have been identified as challenges within the industry.

The group is looking to gather feedback on how these areas fit with individual perspectives ahead of the interim Future Focus strategy which will be published in May.
