Art moooved

By Country News

Moooving Art cow B1 has been caught unawares again, this time by thieves who preferred him over B2.

The Bananas in Pyjamas cow B1 at SPC Ardmona KidsTown, located between Shepparton and Mooroopna, was stolen on the night of June 9, almost three years since he was the victim of vandalism and rebuilt in 2015.

B1 artist Tank said he was disappointed that B1 has been targeted again.

‘‘It’s particularly sad for B1 as he’s been targeted before and really sad for KidsTown to be targeted once again,’’ Tank said.

Tank said the cows suffered wear and tear across the years but to deliberately sabotage a piece of art was unacceptable.

‘‘It’s not funny, these cows are a part of our city and we’re placing trust in the community to respect them,’’ he said.

If B1 is not found, his replacement will be the third B1 Tank has designed.

‘‘We won’t let this defeat us, B1 will be back in one form or another,’’ Tank said.

Greater Shepparton City Council’s acting community director Amanda Tingay said B1 was an important asset to the herd.

‘‘Kids love seeing B1 as they come into KidsTown and B1 is really closely associated with B2, so B2 is really missing B1,’’ Ms Tingay said.

She said it was disappointing that B1 had been taken.

‘‘We would really love B1 to come back, and if anyone has any information out there to contact KidsTown or the Shepparton Police Station as soon as possible,’’ she said.

‘‘People love the Moooving herd of which B1 and B2 are a part ... so getting B1 back in his spot where he should be out at KidsTown is really important to us.’’

Police are reviewing CCTV footage.
