Dr Nelson will share stories from his time as defence minister as well as stories from his current role as a curator of the country’s recollection of war — a history that has seen both bold and failed leadership.
The six speaking sessions are on bold leadership, behind the farm gate, making gains thanks to the new genome era, an insight into the world of milk processing, diet wars and dairy elders, and the finalists of the Australian Young Dairy Scientists’ Award will be revealed.
Notable speakers are:
■Peter van Onselen, The Australian contributing editor.
■Dairy Australia managing director David Nation.
■Brad Nobush, a dairy farmer from Minnesota in the United States.
■Jared Ireland, Lockington dairy farmer.
■Ken Kimber, Australian Dairy Conference founding director and Bega dairy farmer.
■Dr Nollaig Heffernan, independent management consultant from Ireland.
