Agriculture Victoria will host a workshop in Tatura next week to help new and existing small-scale pig and poultry producers prepare a land use planning permit application.
The workshop will give producers an overview of the supporting grants program, which is offering up to $3000 for eligible expenses related to on-farm works, consultancy and advice or training that supports the preparation of a land use planning permit application.
Producers must attend a workshop to be eligible for a grant and Agriculture Victoria will contact each participant to determine property-specific details prior to the workshop, allowing them to provide participants with farm maps and/or aerial images.
The workshops will also inform and educate small-scale pig and poultry producers about their planning requirements, provide guidance on the development of property, locality and nutrient management plans for small-scale pig and poultry farms to support a planning permit application and help participants to identify site improvements needed to support their planning permit application.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 13 from 9.30am to 3.30pm at the DEDJTR office, 255 Ferguson Rd, Tatura. There is no cost, but places are limited.
