Those within the industry are concerned about the lack of detail in the draft dairy code released last week, despite Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud saying it is an ‘‘industry-defining moment’’. DARLING RIVER FISH KILL:
Finger pointing has continued over the fish kill caused by low water levels in the Darling River.
In the latest commentary, the Australia Institute says it has research pointing to mismanagement by Murray-Darling Basin Authority, in releasing too much water from the Menindee Lakes in previous years.
The accusation has been disputed.
DAIRY WEEK KICKS OFF:
International Dairy Week started on Sunday at Tatura Park, with hundreds of exhibitors from most states of Australia.
The Illawarra, Guernsey, Ayrshire and Brown Swiss breeds are on show on Tuesday, the Jerseys on Wednesday and Holsteins on Thursday.
The major auction sale is on Wednesday night.
