MILK PLAN HEADS NORTH:

The UDV is bringing its roadshow to northern Victoria to get farmer support for a simplified milk price structure. The dairy group will visit Cohuna, Kyabram and Numurkah at the end of the month.

BASIN MINISTERS MEET:

Federal and state water ministers, meeting in Canberra on Friday, have reiterated their commitment to only deliver the Murray-Darling Basin Plan’s 450Gl of ‘up-water’ if it results in neutral or positive social and economic outcomes.

VET HONOURED:

Equine vet and co-founder of the Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Dr Angus McKinnon, has been recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his work in the veterinary sciences.

DEADLINE CHANGE:

End-of-season water trading has been changed, with the final deadline moved forward one day. For customers wanting to sell, carry over or relinquish any unused water, trade applications should be lodged with Goulburn-Murray Water by June 27, or June 29 if the application is made through the online trading portal.

SILO ART TRAIL EXPANDS:

Melbourne-based artist Jimmy DVate has begun sketching out the artwork for the Rochester GrainCorp silo. Flora and fauna will be the theme of the artwork, with painting to be completed by the first week of July.

ONE WEEK LEFT:

Goulburn-Murray Water is reminding foreshore licence holders and interested parties to have their say on changes to foreshore licenses before consultation closes on Friday, June 15.
