Support for farmers affected by the drought continues to grow, with more than 100 trucks registered to run hay to northern NSW from this region at the end of the month.
Invergordon’s Leanne Rovers said the support has been overwhelming.
She said after going on a hay run earlier in the month, they had received an influx of calls from other locals looking to help.
With up to eight trucks from around the region carting hay to the north, Ms Rovers said she had been thrilled by the response from fellow farmers and locals, with people donating everything from hay to their time and petrol.
‘‘It’s a very humbling experience (going on a hay run).
‘‘We’ve been absolutely inundated by people wanting to help,’’ she said.
