Show draws a crowd

By Country News

Dads and their children were heavily represented at the 101st Finley Show on Father’s Day.

The Show Society was blessed with amazing weather, which helped attract a large crowd to Finley Showgrounds.

Cattle, sheep, show jumping and poultry contests were all popular, as were the whip cracking, showbags, rides and tiny tots competition.

There was never a moment a steady flow of people wasn’t checking out the main pavilion to see the best jams, cakes, artwork, flower arranging and displays the region has to offer.

Although official numbers are not confirmed, Finley Show Society president Matt Mueller said it was estimated to have been a better turnout than 2017.

‘‘The day was excellent, the weather was great and the crowd really came out,’’ Mr Mueller said.

‘‘The best part was everyone being there and getting out into the community.

‘‘We’re a small community and the show brings us together, and it was pleasing to see people from other towns come along.

‘‘With all of our stock events and classes it does draw a wide variety, but the day was better than last year.’’
