Goulburn Valley residents are being asked to have their say on the region’s next piece of silo art, with Colbinabbin seeking ideas for what to paint on its towering silo.
Painting of the silo, which is owned by VicFeeds’ Carolyn and Alan Meyer, is set to begin next year after the town received more than $100000 in funding for the project as part of the Victorian Government’s Pick My Project grant program.
Colbinabbin Silo Art Trail Project community member Sadie Vale encouraged everyone to have their say and contribute to the final design of the silo art.
She said people from around the region had already been full of suggestions, with a mail drop to be organised in the town to canvas more ideas.
Ms Vale said agriculture had been a popular suggestion, with harvesters, farmers, sheep, wine and championing women in agriculture among the ideas put forward.
The history of the town — which gains its name from an indigenous word describing the meeting of grey and red soil types — has also been a popular suggestion, as was an artwork depicting the importance of sports, town and family in Colbinabbin.
