For many small communities around northern Victoria, 2018 has been the Year of the Silo.
With four of the breathtaking artworks popping up around the region, and a fifth on the way, silo art has reinvigorated these towns and helped bring more tourism to their doors.
Beginning in February, the town of Tungamah kicked-off the move into silo art in northern Victoria before Goorambat, Devenish and Rochester quickly joined the trail.
The four completed silos recognise the region’s unique animal life and history.
Following a successful Pick My Project bid, the people of Colbinabbin have started planning towards painting their town silo, which will begin next year.
■Country News will publish an updated silo map next week.
