In tandem with the region-specific launch will be free workshops in Pyramid Hill and Murchison.
The tool — a soil testing service — is designed to detect if an area needs to be inoculated pre-sowing or not.
It was created by the Grains Research and Development Corporation and will be rolled out through PREDICTA B accredited agronomists.
The workshops will feature leading researchers and cover topics including inoculation, nodulation and nitrogen fixation of crops such as chickpeas, lupins, lentils and faba beans.
Growers who attend will also take part in an interactive session to learn how to conduct nodulation assessments using supplied plant samples.
They’ll also have the new DNA service explained to them.
The service, called PREDICTA rNod works by measures the amount of suitable rhizobia in the soil.
Best practice for inoculation methods, dry sowing and acid tolerance challenges will also be discussed by researchers and consultants attending the sessions.
The workshops will be held at:
● Murchison: Tuesday, March 9 from 9 am to 12.30 pm at Murchison East Hotel.
● Pyramid Hill: Wednesday, March 10 from 9 am to 11.30 am at Pyramid Hill Memorial Hall.
● Lake Bolac: Thursday, March 11 from 9 am to 11.30 am at Lake Bolac Football Club.
