Our furry friends

Girl power: Mick and Catherine Shepard run a dairy farm at Tragowel. Pictured are their daughters with their pooches — Brylee and Meg, Ruby with Rosie, and Tiarna with Blue and Maisie.

We love all the dogs (and other animals ... and people) that appear in Man’s Best Friend and so last week and this week we’re reminding you of a few of the many and varied four-legged stars — and their humans — who featured this year.

All together now: Mixed farmers Buzz and Terri Schulz keep a motley crew of dogs across their Waggarandall, Finley and Major Plains properties. Among the five are — on the ground — retiree Cappa and pet turned tag-a-long Ben; and, in the ute, yarding superstar Buddy, young up-and-comer Busy, and Bandit. Lucky dog: When bedraggled Schnauzer Buster arrived at Sandy Davey's Yarroweyah farm six years ago he found a new loving home. Previously a dairy farmer, Mrs Davey now looks after chickens on the 24 ha hobby farm. Photo: Jamie Salter Photo by Jamie Salter
