Released more than two weeks ago, the panel’s draft report identified mental health, front line services, trust in government and water reform as key issues.
The report included community feedback to assist in examining the future of basin industries.
Panel chair Robbie Sefton thanked the community, industry bodies and interested groups for the contributions and submissions received to date.“We have received a range of submissions covering each of the topic areas and expressing thoughtful and considered insights into the recommendations,” she said.“This is helping finesse our final report, strengthen our findings and provide broad coverage of the critical social and economic conditions that need to be addressed.“We want this document to provide a road map for the Federal Government for immediate action that includes short, medium and long-term viable solutions for our basin communities.”The final report will be delivered to Federal Water Minister Keith Pitt on Thursday, April 30.
