“As the new guys in the industry, our focus is on growth through transparency, diversity and innovation, helping customers maximise their productivity and profitability,” managing director Martyn Barlow said.
After acquiring Albury-based A & C Scales in 2017, Anmar Scales now services customers across NSW, Victoria and the ACT.
“The acquisition of A & C Scales gave us a base in Albury to complement our original and now head office in Melbourne,” Mr Barlow said.
“We’re fully committed to the weighing industry, from sales of new equipment, weighbridge upgrades, as well as the traditional servicing and maintenance of existing facilities. And we are now serving more and more customers within the agricultural industry.
“Our expansion into weighbridges has led us to proudly develop a completely Australian designed and manufactured product range from our small ‘mini-bridge’ to our large road train, trade-approved weighbridges.
“Both ideal solutions for farmers and transport companies alike moving large volumes of grain while needing to be confident they are complying with all the chain of responsibility laws.
“In our business, we aim to employ more people with an emphasis on developing the next generation of apprentices.
“It’s hard getting a start in this industry so we are committed to helping those young people coming through and is a major part of our vision for the future.”
Like all businesses over the past 18 months, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected Anmar Scales.
“Compared to others though, we have been able to keep operating as an essential business, servicing other essential businesses, which has been good for us and our customers — we have been lucky in that regard through the tough times of 2020 and 2021,” Mr Barlow said
He said the company had been looking forward to exhibiting at the Elmore Field Days and was disappointed not to attend this year after the field days were cancelled, but looked forward to the 2022 event.
