The fourth webinar in the Agriculture Victoria irrigation webinar series, Goulburn to Murray trade and Murray delivery risk, will run on Wednesday, March 24, from 1 pm.
Agriculture Victoria senior irrigation extension officer Rob O’Connor said the webinar would discuss recent developments in the Goulburn to Murray Trade Review and the latest findings on changing delivery risk in the Murray system.
“These developments and findings have implications for future water volumes supplied to key southern Murray-Darling Basin irrigation areas and the lower Murray,” Mr O'Connor said.
The webinar will cover recent developments in the Goulburn to Murray Trade Review including the soon-to-be released regulatory impact statement that proposes long-term changes to trade and operating rules, which are scheduled to come into effect on 1 July 2021; recent findings about Murray River delivery risk including how the key drivers of delivery risk are changing and what’s being done about it; what this all means for Victorian irrigators and actions that can be taken to be better prepared; the impact of these developments and the associated management strategies on valuable ecological sites.
