Living the high life in what his owners call the "Taj Mahal of kennels" Archie can not contain himself in the yards but is a good paddock dog on the Locksley farm of Jack and Susie Bate. While food is not high on his list of priorities, he does prefer an eye fillet over kangaroo and is a good companion, so much so that you would not dare leave him behind.
How long have you had him?
Susie: We've had him since a pup. He was one of Steve Brook's litter.
How did he get his name?
Susie: Steve's step-daughter's son is named Archie. When Archie brought him out to show us we asked "what should we call him?" and he said "Archie".
Does he like travelling?
Jack: He loves cars. He loves jumping in them. He's got FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). You can't leave a door open.
Has he ever had an injury?
Susie: Apparently he broke his tail once. We took him to the vet to get his annual vaccinations and the vet said he'd broken his tail.
Where does he sleep?
Susie: It's an above-ground, indoor/ outdoor kennel. He's got the Taj Mahal of kennels.
Which commands does he respond to the best?
Jack: In the yards he doesn't respond to any commands. It's a free-for-all.
Susie: He's a maniac in the yards.
What does he have to eat?
Jack: Dry food. As you can see, food is not on top of his priority list. He doesn't like kangaroo. He prefers an eye fillet.
