UPDATE: The office of NSW Regional Water Minister Niall Blair is now reporting that 60 fish have died at Lake Hume. Mr Blair's office earlier today put the figure at 1800.
Goulburn-Murray Water said they have not received any reports of fish deaths in the area but have sent a storage officer to examine Lake Hume.
The cause of the reported deaths is so far unknown.
The news comes a week after up to a million fish died in the Darling River at Menindee prompting water officials to hold an emergency meeting in Canberra to discuss how to prevent further deaths.
