Sale slows down

The night has traditionally seen some extraordinary sales figures, but this year the highest lot was an in-calf Camilla cow, which sold at $16000 to Henley Farming, New Zealand.

The same buyers also snapped up the second top lot, a Betty cow, for $9000.

The third highest price was Eclipse Solomon 7 Princess 2, which went for $7800, while an Aleece heifer sold for $7500.

Two lots were passed in.

About 350 people attended the sale conducted by auctioneer Brian Leslie and 10 staff from Dairy Livestock Services.
