The Australian dairy industry is on the brink of a data revolution, with new technologies to be discussed at the upcoming Herd 19 conference in Bendigo.
Delegates at Herd 19 — the industry’s herd improvement conference — will hear from a variety of speakers about the data game-changers in the dairy industry and their impact on everything from breeding to genetics and mastitis management.
Speakers from across the country will present at the event, discussing topics including embracing change, making farm decisions based on data, and dairy careers for the next generation.
The event is held once every two years, and organising committee member Michelle Axford, of DataGene, said Herd 19 would tackle the convergence of data technologies and herd improvement.
‘‘The Australian dairy industry is making big leaps with data management and Herd 19 is a great opportunity to discover the likely impact on herd improvement more broadly on farm, and the people that make it happen,’’ she said.
The Herd 19 conference runs from March 19 to 20 at All Seasons Resort Hotel in Bendigo.
