The huge prize money makes the competition the richest inland fishing tournament.
Held between April 25 and 29, all anglers need to do is catch a fish, snap a photo using the GoFish Nagambie App, and they will then be in the running for one of the top 10 prizes — totalling $315000.
‘Cod O’clock’ will have competitors go in the running to win one of four Jayco JTRAK OBX camper trailers valued at $27500 each.
Each competition day, organisers will give a JTRAK OBX to the first person to catch a cod of the nominated size within Cod O’clock.
Similarly Carp O’clock will also take place on Friday and Super Saturday with the first person to catch a carp of the nominated size within the timeframe due to receive a Clarke boat and Suzuki engine package valued at $24000 on Saturday; and two Quintrex boat and Yamaha engine packages valued at $10000 each on Friday.
The fisherman to catch the largest total combined length Murray cod across the three-day fishing competition will become the Murray cod champion angler and receive $20000 cash.
Other prizes include the biggest overall golden perch ($20000 cash), the second-biggest overall Murray cod ($15000 cash), second-placed Murray cod champion angler ($10000 cash), the golden perch champion angler ($10000 cash), and the second-largest golden perch ($6000 cash).
One lucky random angler will also win a Quintrex boat and Yamaha engine package, and they will be selected on the main three days.
Event director Rod Lockwood said the remainder of the prize pool would be split so that anyone could win.
‘‘This is a competition for everyone, for all abilities across all age groups and the prize haul will be given away,’’ he said.
