Kolodjashnij faces an uncertain future, sidelined after the Cats were fined $140,000 for failing to officially inform the AFL about the concussion waiver in the player's contract.
The 31-year-old defender returned to the club last week but was not selected for the Cats' elimination final victory over Carlton on Friday night.
Whether 209-game veteran Kolodjashnij features again at senior level - or even in the reserves - remains to be seen.
Miers is going in to bat for his 2022 premiership teammate in his role as an AFL Players Association delegate.
"I'm putting pressure on whoever I can just to make sure the questions are being asked for Kolo, because I don't feel like he should be in the position that he's in right now from it," Miers said on 3AW radio.
"I guess it's a really confusing and tough situation for all involved ... and for the future of the game as well.
"So I understand why things are happening, but where I can I'm trying to help him out."
Miers said he has regular discussions with Kolodjashjij and is hopeful his teammate can return to action, but admits the prospect seems unlikely.
"I want Kolo to be back out there," Miers said.
"Not only are we in a really good (AFL) finals campaign but our VFL (team) is in a prelim as well.
"I feel really bad for the situation Kolo's in and I really hope that - which doesn't seem likely at the moment - we can figure something out to get him out there.
"Hopefully (he can) continue his career, but if not, finish it off the right way."
Earlier this week, Geelong coach Chris Scott insisted he was unsure if Kolodjashnij would play for the Cats again and said he had stayed out of the club's dealings on the matter.
"I've been really conscious to separate myself from this," Scott said on Tuesday.
"This is one of those situations - if I could help, I would.
"But I'm told, and I believe independently, that I just wouldn't be any assistance, so I just don't get in the way."
Geelong's penalty for not officially notifying the AFL of the concussion waiver was $100,000, plus a suspended sanction of $40,000, which stemmed from the league fining the Cats last October after an investigation into the club's third-party agreements.
After eliminating Carlton from the premiership race, Geelong will take-on minor premiers Fremantle at Perth's Optus Stadium in a cut-throat semi-final next week.
