These days were September 4 after a muggy September 3, and the last two days of the month.
Shepparton recorded 19.4mm on September 4 and on the last two days received 13.2mm and 12.8mm respectively.
Outside these three days the cannery town recorded just 7.4mm – 14 per cent of Shepparton’s 52.8mm monthly total.
Normally one of the driest towns in the region, Kerang managed to keep up with the Goulburn Valley, recording 50.4mm of rain.
This happened almost entirely on September 4 (16.4mm) and September 30 (30.6mm).
September’s driest town was Echuca with 24.7mm, closely followed by Kyabram at 29.8mm.
These towns both missed out on big rainfall during the last two days of the month.
The wettest location in the region was Lake Eildon with 98.8mm followed by Wangaratta with 92.8mm.
Yarrawonga received 61.4mm, Tatura 63.2mm, Bendigo 71.6mm, Mangalore 76.8mm, Benalla 82.0mm and Strathbogie 88.0mm.
The coldest September temperature recorded was -1.5°C in Strathbogie, and the hottest was 30.5°C in Kerang.
