“The annual New Zealand study tour is an amazing opportunity for emerging industry leaders to learn from New Zealand’s innovative dairy farmers and industry professionals, develop their leadership skills, network with other young dairy professionals, and gain invaluable skills they can take back to their own farms or businesses,” UDV president Paul Mumford said.
“During the eight-day trip, participants will tour a variety of farm systems and technologies on New Zealand’s most productive dairy farms, cutting-edge dairy research centres and advanced processing facilities.
"Previous participants of the study tour have gone on to assume more responsibility on their farm or business, represent their region at the UDV Policy Council, contribute to their communities, and win awards such as the Australian Young Farmer of the Year."
To be eligible, applicants must be aged between 18 and 35 years, hold an Australian passport, be actively involved in the Victorian dairy industry either on-farm or in the supply chain, and be available for travel in February 2020.
Applications for the New Zealand study tour close at 9am on Monday, October 14, with selection interviews to be held in Melbourne.
