The idea of bringing championship jet boat racing back to Victoria began in mid-2024, when Elmore and District Field Days approached the Australian National Championship Jet Boat Association to explore the possibility of hosting sprint boat racing at Elmore for the first time in more than a decade.

What followed was 12 months of feasibility studies, business research and strategic planning, with EFD and AFJSA working together to determine whether the ambitious project could become a reality.
Once an agreement to proceed was reached, the next 14 months brought a new set of challenges, including complex operational requirements and significant weather setbacks.
But through plenty of planning, persistence and collaboration, the project has finally come to fruition — with EFD proudly hosting the inaugural Elmore Jet Boats meet, which will also serve as round one of the Australian V8 Superboats Championship.
