The cult musical will be directed by Tricia Deakin, with Chris McDonald as musical director leading the on-stage band, and Lisa Styles as choreographer and promises a bold, high-energy celebration of identity, transformation and unapologetic self-expression.
“This show has endured because it’s brave, it’s bold and it gives people permission to be unapologetically themselves,” Tricia said.
“That spirit is at the heart of what we’re creating.”
Part sci-fi, part horror spoof and part glam rock concert, Rocky Horror remains as daring and deliciously defiant today as it was half a century ago.
Commanding the stage as the iconic Dr Frank-N-Furter is Dennis Carter, supported by Zay Ryan as his muscle-bound “perfect specimen of a man” Rocky.
Darcy Elliott takes on sinister underling Riff Raff, while Tamara Cadd stars as his devilish sister Magenta/Trixie.
Dillon Shelley stars as the sweetly awkward Brad and Indra Hubble as his wide-eyed fiancée Janet, while Juliana De Quilettes taps her way onto the stage as Columbia, and Gerry Oman takes on the dual role of Eddie and Dr Scott.
Completing the cast are the show’s six Phantoms — Hayley Franklin, Ivy Jensen, Molli Johns, Bec Kellett, Taylah Logie, Sarah Mott, Darcy McLindon and Sue Windsor — who help drive the story’s electrifying energy from start to finish.
One of the most exciting creative elements of EMTC’s production is the decision to feature a live band on stage, fully immersed in the action.
“We’re bringing the musicians into the heart of the show to amplify the gritty rock energy that makes Rocky Horror so iconic,” Tricia said.
“The result will be a thrilling fusion of vintage horror, glam rock and punk-inspired design.”
Audiences can expect a confident ensemble ready to lean into the show’s cheeky humour, theatrical excess and rebellious heart.
The Rocky Horror Show will take to the stage at the Paramount Theatre from May 28 to 31, promising six performances filled with nostalgia, attitude and electric live performance.
Tickets will be on sale in March through the Paramount. For more information and updates, follow EMTC on Facebook and Instagram.
