The family-friendly event promises to showcase Australia’s finest and emerging country-styled talent with a line-up that rivals renowned country music festivals.
The line-up includes headliner Casey Barnes with Beccy Cole, Amber Lawrence, Andrew Swift, Hayley Jensen, Tori Darke and Gareth Leach & the Narrative of Hope.
Singer-songwriter Gareth Leach, who grew up in Echuca, expressed his excitement about returning home.
“With Echuca, we were on board from the start,” he said.
“It ties in with our latest single that came out a couple of months ago and we have some new music on the way.”
Gareth thinks all the musicians on the billing at the Echuca Country Music Festival are all great people.
“We love hanging out with Andrew Swift; he has been a mate of ours all the way through the journey, and we always like playing with Swifty,” he said.
“Then hanging out with Casey Barnes is always a lot of fun.
“He is a great dude, has got a lot of energy and it is really contagious backstage.”
Gareth praised the festival’s community atmosphere.
“The great thing about these festivals is we all know each other from around the traps,” he said.
“I think the Australian country music scene, while it is growing and getting bigger and bigger, there is still a great sense of mateship and support for one another.”
Gates open at 11.30am, with performances running throughout the day.
For those not wanting to drive, transport options include day shuttles running from town to the racecourse from 11.30am-2pm, and night shuttles returning from 9pm-10.30pm.
