While The News was keeping you up to date with its live blog, firefighters were working hard trying to contain fires at Yarroweyah and Longwood, which have destroyed countless homes and farms.

The Yarroweyah fire broke out on Friday, January 9 — a day with a catastrophic fire danger rating — and burned more than 1000 hectares.
One person has died in the Longwood fire that began on Wednesday, January 7, and has since burned more than 100,000 hectares.
Some firefighters managed to capture the devastation on the ground.
