The ever-improving sustainability of the Australian red meat industry was recognised with red meat supplier Paradigm Foods and its Roots Regenerative brand, victorious in the Marketing and Communications category at the Banksia Awards last week.
The Banksia Awards is Australia’s longest running and most prestigious sustainability awards and attracted a record number of entries for 2023.
Meat & Livestock Australia is a sponsor, and managing director Jason Strong congratulated Paradigm Foods on its win along with the three other red meat industry finalists in other award categories — HW Greenham, Leather Cattle Co and Future Feed.
“Through Roots Regenerative, they are deeply committed to regenerative agriculture, reducing food waste, improving animal welfare and overall sustainability,” Mr Strong said.
“Winning this award is amazing recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Paradigm Foods team and their partners.”
Mr Strong said many others in the industry were keen to build on their own sustainability story.
“MLA’s research and development investments are focused on demonstrating that sustainability goes hand in hand with productivity and long term inter-generational success.”
He said the whole industry had a strong sustainability story to tell, including its ambitious plans to be carbon neutral by 2030 (CN30).
