A treasure trove of souvenirs and books filled with historic photographs, compiled by Mr Allemand, can be found at the museum.
The museum was established around Shepparton's oldest surviving building known as the public hall, which was built in 1873 and purchased by the former Shepparton City Council in 1969.
The Shepparton Heritage Centre relocated in 1972 from the Shepparton Mechanics’ Institute in Wyndham St to its current location at 154 Welsford St.
The museum is open from Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm and entry is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
To make an appointment, phone Geoff Allemand on 0459 215 205.
