Farmers can get on the front foot for the future at a carbon farming field day at Hamilton on February 26.
The Grassland Society of South Australia's Western District Branch Pasture Technology Group will host the ‘Front Foot Farming: Carbon Farming for the Future’ field day.
Speakers will include Meat & Livestock Australia's supply chain sustainability innovation manager Doug McNicholl, professor of livestock production systems and director of the Primary Industries Climate Challenges Centre in the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Melbourne Richard Eckard, Carbon Farmers of Australia director Louisa Kiely and Cavendish farmer Johnny Gardner, who will lead a discussion on where carbon farming might fit into the industry.
The ‘Front Foot Farming: Carbon Farming for the Future’ field day will be held at the Hamilton Showgrounds, Shakespeare St, Hamilton from 8 am to 3 pm on Wednesday, February 26.
