New agriculture and water ministers in Cabinet reshuffle

By Rodney Woods

Newly appointed Nationals Deputy Leader David Littleproud will take back the agriculture portfolio as part of the Morrison Government's new Cabinet, while fellow Queensland Nationals MP Keith Pitt has been elevated to take on the water ministry.

The reshuffle was necessary after Victorian Senator Bridget McKenzie quit the ministry over the sports rorts scandal and Matt Canavan stepped down after backing Barnaby Joyce in the Nationals leadership spill.

Mr Littleproud will remain as drought and emergency management minister.

Victorian Nationals MP Darren Chester has been returned to Cabinet.
