Melissa Horne has replaced Jaala Pulford as Victorian Minister for Fishing and Boating after a state cabinet reshuffle.
The reshuffle was necessary after the sacking of Adem Somyurek over claims of alleged branch stacking and inappropriate comments made towards colleagues.
“Minister Pulford has been an outstanding supporter for recreational fishing and VRFish,” VRFish chair Rob Loats said.
“Over the last six years, Minister Pulford has helped to deliver record investment to the recreational fishing sector through the Target One Million policy.
“Recreational fishing in Victoria is the best it has ever been and now the envy of other states.”
Ms Pulford, who was also the state's agriculture minister between 2014 and 2018, will now take on the roles of Minister for Employment, Minister for Innovation, Medical Research and the Digital Economy and Minister for Business.
Ms Horne will also take on Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation and continue in her role as Minister for Ports and Freight.
Ms Horne will be replaced by Ben Carroll in the Public Transport portfolio.
