With a focus on easy calving, fertility, superior 400-day growth and moderate maturity, Chiltern Park Angus takes the guesswork out of your commercial Angus operation.
Breeding philosophy
Chiltern Park Angus focuses on ease of calving, fertility, higher 400-day weight gain, and producing a resilient, structurally sound, moderate-sized animal to perform under high stocking rates; traits designed to improve both the efficiency and profitability of commercial herds.
Backed by science
In the Independent Bush Agribusiness Top Studs report 2023, Chiltern Park Angus had the highest Breeding Average A of the 22 top Angus studs featured. It has over a decade of results well above the Angus Breed Average.
Who we are
Chiltern Park Angus is one component of Chiltern Park Pty Ltd, which also comprises a commercial Angus herd and prime lamb flock based at Macarthur in southwest Victoria.
Co-directors Ben and Peter Young have a passion for the Angus breed and started breeding bulls in 2010 to improve specific traits in their own commercial herd.
Introducing renowned sires such as Invincible402 and E7 led to outstanding results and demand from local producers to purchase Chiltern Park bulls privately.
In 2022, Chiltern Park Angus held the first auction of its top 50 bulls to address first pick. Its annual auction is held in March, featuring 18-month-old bulls in the top 20 per cent of the breed average.
An additional 250 bulls are available to purchase privately in spring and autumn.
