President John Phoenix said the club was passionate about sharing its knowledge and educating visitors about automotive history, with a particular focus on classic vehicles.
“It was only about five cars initially,” John said.
The club’s collection spans automotive history from a 1927 classic to a 2017 Holden Commodore, representing the end of an era for Australian car manufacturing.
“The expo is just for the Seymour Car Club,” he said.
“We normally have 20 cars on display on the oval, and a little gazebo on the fence with our banner.”
The team will be there to answer any questions about the cars on display, owning a vintage car or joining the club.
“Throughout the whole day, we’ve always got at least two members that man the area, ready to give out information,” he said.
Since 2011, the club has built extensive expertise in automotive exhibitions, particularly excelling in show and shine competitions across the region.
John said the hardest part of owning a vintage car was the upkeep.
“The maintenance is one of the hard things, as it’s getting harder for some lighter metal cars,” he said.
“We don’t have any Australian cars any more, so we rely on imports, and it’s hard to get Commodore parts at the moment even.”
Visit the Seymour Car Club display to discover the district’s most impressive vehicles and chat with passionate enthusiasts about car ownership and automotive history.
The club will also have information on club membership for any budding car lovers.
The car club will be at the event for all three days.
The car club has been part of the event for decades and has no sign of stopping.
