Bat Night will return to Tatura’s Cussen Park on Friday, April 17 for a free night of expert guest speakers who will hold an interactive opportunity to learn more about how bats catch their prey, their role in the ecosystem as pollinators and their similarities with humans.
The event is part of Greater Shepparton City Council’s Activities in the Park program which will also feature a free barbecue hosted by the Tatura Lions Club and an up-close insect and spider experience provided by Goulburn Murray Landcare Network.
Council’s Director Sustainable Development Geraldine Christou said Bat Night was a great opportunity for the community to connect with local wildlife.
“Cussen Park is home to a wide range of native wildlife, and events like Bat Night help residents and families better understand and appreciate the species that live alongside us.”
“You can get up close, learn more about different species, and discover the important role bats play in controlling insects and supporting healthy ecosystems.”
All activities commence at the Cussen Park rotunda at the Ross St entrance.
This event is free, but bookings are essential for catering purposes.
