Elmore Field Days executive manager Derek Shotton said the event had strong attendance Tuesday and Wednesday followed by quieter crowds on Thursday, but overall attendance was similar to last year.
The favourable weather was a welcome bonus for an event that relies heavily on outdoor displays and demonstrations.
“The weather was good to us and we’re happy overall,” Mr Shotton said.
“The majority of exhibitors have had reasonable inquiries, some good sales and follow-ups to look into, so they seem happy too.”
With about 1100 exhibitors showcasing their products, services and equipment, there was plenty for visitors to explore, from the latest agricultural machinery to traditional rural skills and family-friendly attractions.
Mr Shotton said the impressive range of equipment on display was a highlight, particularly given the challenges involved in getting large machinery and other displays to the site.
The jet boats display also attracted interest, providing a taste of the action to come when the Elmore Jet Boats and Australian Formula Jet Sprint Association V8 Superboats return to the region for a major event on October 31.
“It was a bit of a ‘we made it’ moment,” Mr Shotton said.
The Australian Wool Innovation shearing display was another feature, showcasing the skills and equipment involved in an important part of Australia's agricultural industry.
Behind the scenes, the event’s success was the result of considerable work from the executive committee, staff, volunteers, exhibitors and the wider community.
Mr Shotton said he was particularly proud of how everyone had come together, with the committee and staff ensuring the event ran smoothly.
“The committee and the team really stepped up this year,” he said.
“Spring weather can be unpredictable, particularly for an outdoor event of this scale, making the favourable conditions all the more rewarding for those involved.”
Mr Shotton congratulated everyone who contributed to another successful year, thanking the staff, volunteers, exhibitors and supporters whose efforts continued to bring the agricultural community together.
