The free webinar from 11am to 12.30pm hosted by Feed Central and LocalAg will cover key topics, including hay markets and buying strategies, hay storage and feeding management and feed testing and hay quality.
The ‘Feeding Through the Drought 2026’ webinar has been organised to help producers to make the best decisions in a fluctuating and challenging market.
It will feature Feed Central and LocalAg managing director Tim Ford, LocalAg Plus national sales manager David Clothier and regional sales manager Anthony Balzer, and Feed Central grower services manager Stephen Page.
Mr Ford said that drought seasons put pressure on every part of the hay market, from sourcing suitable feed through to managing freight, availability and pricing.
“This webinar is about helping producers better understand the market and make more confident decisions during a difficult season,” he said.
“The market is moving differently this year, particularly with weather forecasts, freight costs and regional supply all influencing buying behaviour. We want this session to provide practical insights that help producers navigate the season with greater clarity and confidence.”
Mr Ford said that in drought seasons, farmers needed to make tough decisions fast.
“Feed quality, buying timing, freight, storage and feeding management all start to carry a lot more weight when every tonne matters,” he said.
The webinar will provide practical information, real market insight and straight-forward advice from people working in the hay industry.
“People will leave with useful information they can use this season,” Mr Ford said.
“It’s about making the hay market work for you.”
