The day was well attended with many locals calling in and getting some tips on how to prepare their homes for this fire season.
The display included information about the new Australian Fire Danger Rating System (AFDRS) and the online property assessment tool, which helps you create a checklist of things that can be done to make your property safer.
There was plenty of fun for both children and adults, with the interactive water extinguisher and hoses.
But best of all was the thrill of sitting in the cabin of the fire trucks that were on display.
"A special thank you to Ian Hunter for allowing us to use the area for our display,“ brigade member Kerrie Godfrey said.
Jaffas is ready to shave it all
‘The People’s Mullet’, fondly named by local Andrew Jefferies, has been grown, nurtured and is now nearing the end of its journey.
Andrew will be chopping off the celebrated mullet in coming days.
The Black Dog Institute’s Mullets for Mental Health was the catalyst for Andrew’s monster mullet, which was also a COVID-19 distraction.
More on Andrew’s fundraising effort in our Friday edition.

Digitisation cake stall
The Deniliquin Genealogy Society will be in the Cressy St kiosk this Thursday raising money for its digitisation project.
The family history group has launched a campaign to have the Deniliquin Pastoral Times available for researchers who use Trove.
Society president Val Hardman said that with some great treats available, donating will be easy.
“Pop in buy something for morning tea, or just a raffle ticket, to aid this project,” she said.
“We will open about 9am, and we’ll have books for sale as well as cakes.
“In the raffle, you have the choice of a hamper or a small patchwork quilt.”
Early memorial service
Police officers and some special guests will today gather to mark National Police Remembrance Day.
A special ceremony will be held at the Deniliquin Police Station this morning.
Detective Inspector Jy Brown said National Police Remembrance Day is actually this Thursday.
But the station chose to bring forward the event because of the Deni Ute Muster.
Thursday marks the opening of the gates for the event, which is held Friday and Saturday.
New collection of paintings on display at the library
A small selection of paintings reproduced from the State Library of NSW permanent exhibition is now on display at the Edward River Library in Deniliquin.
It will show a little of the diversity of the collection, the different eras represented, its subject matter and artistic range.
The State Library of NSW is one of the oldest collecting institutions in Australia.
Its vast pictorial collections include many thousands of drawings, prints, photographs and paintings.
Together, they present a rich visual account of the people, places and events that have shaped New South Wales, Australia and beyond.
The exhibition will be at the library until October 14.
