Ladies were encouraged to bring their daughters along, adding to the lively atmosphere, and to wear something yellow.
An original poem on the topic of ageing, written by mother-daughter duo Meyerene Geldenhuys and Lourene Liebenberg, was recited and drew plenty of laughter.
A special moment of the afternoon was the celebration of Phyllis Brown’s 98th birthday, which was celebrated with cake.
The Golden Oldies will meet again on April 10, this time with an Anzac Day theme. They meet in the Deniliquin RSL Club brasserie.
