New work experience resources launched to strengthen local workforce pathways

The Goulburn Murray Local Learning and Employment Network has launched a new suite of work experience resources, designed to make it easier for local businesses to host students and support the next generation of workers.

Available now via the GMLLEN website, the resources provide easy-to-use guidance for employers looking to offer work experience placements across key regional industries.

GMLLEN executive officer Rebecca Costa-Lowe said the initiative was about making it easier for industry to get involved.

“We know employers want to support young people but often don’t know where to start,” she said.

“These resources remove the barriers and show exactly what a great work experience placement can look like.”

The new material includes structured placement ideas, sample timetables and guidance on how to create engaging and valuable experiences for young people.

Hosting a student can help businesses showcase their industry and career pathways, build connections with future employees, promote the skills and attributes needed in their workforce and strengthen ties with the local community.

GMLLEN encourages businesses to host a work experience student, whether it is a one-day experience, a short placement or a structured program.
